Malta is small, so where you stay decides how your days actually run. We manage apartments across five main areas of the island, and each one suits a different kind of trip.
Valletta
Stay here for the capital itself — restaurants, history and the waterfront on your doorstep. It’s the right choice if you want to walk everywhere and don’t mind the city being quieter in the evenings once the day-trippers head home.
St Julian’s
Spinola and Balluta Bays, bars, cafés and the coast road. This is the pick for a livelier trip, with restaurants and nightlife within walking distance and the promenade running most of the way to Sliema.
Sliema and Tigné
Shopping, the promenade and the ferry across to Valletta. Sliema works well if you want a mix of city convenience and seafront living, with easy transport links to the rest of the island and Valletta a short hop away.
Birgu and the Three Cities
Harbour front, marinas and the quieter, historic side of Malta. This is the choice for travellers who want charm and history without the crowds — still close to Valletta by ferry, but a genuinely different pace of life.
Msida and Pietà
Close to the university, the business district and the marina. A practical base if you’re in Malta for work, with easy access to the centre of the island and straightforward transport connections.
Our advice
If it’s your first trip to Malta and you want to walk to most things, choose Valletta or Sliema. If you’re after nightlife, St Julian’s. If you want quiet and character, Birgu. And if you’re here for business, Msida keeps you close to everything without the tourist crush.
It’s also worth remembering that Malta is genuinely small — nowhere on the island is more than about 45 minutes from anywhere else, so getting the neighbourhood right is about the feel of your daily walk out the door, not about being cut off from anything.
